The purpose of the DHA is to educate medical students about the specific healthcare needs and disparities that exist within particular communities. These communities include, but are not limited to, LGBTQ, ethnic minorities, racial minorities, persons with disabilities, and religious minorities. In addition, students are encouraged to recognize how their attitudes, beliefs, and knowledge regarding these groups may be relevant to the practice of medicine, and to seek consultation where indicated. Student members will also advocate for these communities in the legislature as it relates to the practice of medicine to protect and serve against discrimination.

Dues are $10 and can be paid to Jayden Glover (Venmo: @Jayden-Glover)
