Student American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics (SAOAO)

The Student American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics (SAOAO) at LECOM Bradenton aims to expose and enlighten members in the field of orthopedics and orthopedic surgery. This club is open to all students interested in orthopedic surgery. Through hands on experience and building connections with local orthopedic surgeons & residents, you can except to learn more about the field and the road to getting an orthopedic residency spot. Dues are $40 for all four years ($10 each year that is paid on an annual basis).

Leadership Positions:
    • President: Organizes and conducts the meetings. Establishes connections to benefit the club. Oversees other executive role’s responsibilities. In charge of communications to club members from the leadership council. In charge of club social media.

    • Vice President: Assists the president with all the above duties. Organizes volunteer and fundraiser activities.

    • Secretary: Takes attendance at meetings. Creates meeting minutes of executive board meetings and member meetings and disburses minutes after meetings.

    • Treasurer: Handles finances (dues & spreadsheet spending). In charge of Food/Drink for meetings. Creates annual budget.

    • Research Chair: Organizes research symposium. Handles advice on research from members.
